The videos below are a daily exercise we have created in which we attempt to become some natural element using only our bodies.

Human Tree Blowing In The Wind

Day Five

Day Three

Wednesday, we took a thrilling walk to the post office to mail our postcards from the Dayton Art Institute. After, we regrouped on a sunny patch of grass and played games, while getting to know each other and figuring out what we wanted to do with our project.

To Those Who Don't Know Anything About Us:

We are a collaborative project provided by the Blue Sky Project, an organization based out of Dayton, Ohio that provides an opportunity for professional artists, college students and young adults to work together in an effort to produce a final artistic product while influencing and learning from one another in an inspiring and positive environment.

‘Team Nature’ is lead by Resident Artist John Peña, an artist hailing from Pittsburgh, PA. His work can be found at http://www.johnpena.net/. Alexa von Bargen is his Student Artist, and will be a junior Art/English major at Xavier University in the fall. Rounding out the roster are the Youth Participants: Jeen, Rebecca, Rachael, Mollie, Megan, Shay, Christany, and Chloe. All of the young artists hail from Montgomery County. We’ll have more about them later…

We plan to spend this summer exploring the opportunities and environments Dayton has to offer as we create a dialogue with the nature surrounding us. By van, by bike, by foot, by wagon, you’re sure to see us out and about!
